Our Team

Our diverse team of board members is committed to ensuring a better healthcare for Africa’s children. We are all volunteers and no team member receives any form of compensation or renumeration for their service, besides the gratification of giving hope to the little ones they serve.

  • President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

    Honorary Member and Senior Advisor

    President Sirleaf is the former president of Liberia and Africa’s first female head of state. She is a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and the U.S. presidential medal of freedom.

  • Daniel N. Gwan-Nulla M.D

    Board Member/Executive Director

    Dr. Gwan-Nulla is a Cameroonian born cardiothoracic surgeon in Columbus, Georgia. He has done surgical missions in many parts of Africa, operating on adults and children.

  • Meesha B. Gwan-Nulla M.D

    Board Member

    Dr. Meesha Gwan-Nulla is an internist in Columbus, Georgia. She has done medical mission in Africa and the Caribbean.

  • Ann Keadle BA

    Board Member/Operations Manager

    Mrs. Keadle is a former marketing director for the Methodist Home for Children and Youth in Macon, Georgia. She has a heart for missions, especially involving children. She and her husband, Dr. Trey Keadle, live in Columbus Georgia with their two teenage children.

    Mr. Holl is a physician assistant in Columbus, Georgia

  • Robert L. Hehmeyer JD, CFP

    Board Member/Treasurer

    Mr. Hehmeyer is a partner at Moneta, a 100% Partner-owned registered investment advisor (RIA) headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

  • James A. Brown M.D

    Board Member

    Dr. Brown is a recently retired general surgeon. He spent the past 15 years as a missionary surgeon in Cameroon, including last eleven years at Mbingo Baptist Hospital, where he was the chief of surgery and director of the PAACS surgical residency for most of that time.

  • John Mate-Kole M.D

    Board Member

    Dr John Mate-Kole is a board certified pediatrician who practices both in the US and Ghana. He is passionate about reducing infant mortality in West Africa and teaches Neonatal Resuscitation to perinatal healthcare workers in Ghana.

  • Lillian W. Gitau MBA

    Mrs Gitau is director of global programs at Bethany Kids International.

  • Mark J. Snell M.D

    Board Member

    Dr. Snell is a general surgeon and retired chief of surgery and director of the PAACS general surgery residency program at Mbingo Baptist Hospital, Cameroon.
